FAQ

Where does stringy eye discharge come from?
First off, there are many causes of eye discharge and furthermore different types of eye discharge. In my case, my eye discharge happens to be white/clear/transparent and develops in a strand. If this sounds like your condition, hopefully the material on this website can assist you. Some reasons why you would produce this discharge would be from: contact lenses, allergies, an eye infection (i.e. pink eye) or dry eyes. I myself have dry eyes which directly resulted from overwearing of contact lenses.

How do you cure your eyes of stringy discharge?
If you wear contact lenses, try changing your solution to Clear Care. However, remember that the cleaning agent contains hydrogen peroxide which will burn your eyes if you do not use it correctly. For more information visit Acuvue Oasys Lenses Cause Red Eyes.
If you do not wear contact lenses, you most likely have dry eyes meaning the stringy discharge will not simply disappear. However, educating oneself on the condition is important as is following a healthy eye care regimen.

Why did you create this blog?
When I first developed dry eye, I had no idea what was going on. I wore Acuvue Oasys with Hydraclear Plus for a few years and on one specific occasion, my eyes became bloodshot red. Never having slept with my contacts, a pounding sensation surged into one of my eyes. (Sounds bad, I know). Searching for an answer, I scoured the internet and came across Acuvue Oasys Lenses Cause Red Eyes. Furthermore, I have since frequented many doctor's offices and spent a good amount of money in doing so.

Visiting optometrists as well as ophthalmologists costs a great deal of money. What I found interesting was that when I finally stumbled upon an optometrist that I felt could assist me in my condition, everything that this person told me I found online. From the type of eye drops to take (TheraTears, Restasis, etc.), to fish oil tablets, to using warm compresses to even having the option of inserting punctual plugs. It was only natural that I take everything that I've learned and sum it all up into some what of a guide.

In any case, I wanted to record the process that I went through that would lead me to healthy eyes. I know others out there suffer from the same condition, so why not share it with everyone? Information should be accessible to all.
